Fallen On High
Fallen on High is currently a band of five musicians from Columbus, Ohio that produces an eclectic mix of music ranging from straight-ahead power-pop and up-tempo rock, with a good measure of crowd pleasing covers. The band was formed in 2008 when the three Brazik brothers, Aaron, Simon and Zack, got together to see if they could form a band. With Aaron on vocals, Zack playing synth and Simon on bass, the brothers recruited a drummer and a guitarist and started their journey writing music. One of the bands most popular songs, Let Go, was born of this period.
After a couple of months, Simon and the guitarist dropped out due to external conflicts. Aaron and Zack recruited Zacks godfather, Steven Smith, to fill in on guitar. This was a fruitful period creatively for the band, but when their drummer left, too, the band felt they could not move forward without both a bassist and a drummer.
Through the wonder of the craigslist musicians classifieds, the band found a drummer and guitarist who were looking for musicians to fill out their own band. On an October evening in 2009, the two bands began the exchange of ideas that would lead to Fallen on High. As the bands started to play each others songs, there was immediate chemistry, and the band clicked. Matt Steward (guitar) and Jason Carvey (drums) were the missing pieces that were needed. With no hesitation, Steven moved to bass, and the band was set.
After a couple of years of relative stability, a five song demo and a lot of gigs, a number of personnel changes have taken place over the last 18 months. First of these changes was Steven leaving the band to concentrate on family. Wolf Waggoner rocked the house on bass with the band for a few months. This was unfortunately not to last, as Wolf moved on to concentrate on other musical endeavors which necessitated Matt taking over the bass duties. Bryan Stoker has come in as the new guitarist, taking over for Matt, and Kelli Schuster has joined to bring a female voice to the party. These two new musicains have brought fresh new life to the band. If this wasn't enough, ss of mid-January, Zach has decided to take a temporary hiatus from the band to pursue his studies at Ohio State and to write the Great American Zombie Rock Opera, (STAY TUNED)!
